Jiawei Yan
Jiawei Yan’s practice is rooted in a sustained contemplation of “the moment” and “flow.” Through painting, he explores the hidden connections between natural phenomena, bodily perception, and spiritual experience. Ripples, light and shadow, drifting clouds, and human gestures intertwine in his works, forming an image-space between reality and imagination, Eastern poetics and contemporary visual language.
In Yan’s paintings, water becomes a medium of memory, consciousness, and time. Through delicate and layered brushwork, he transforms everyday experience into symbolic visual landscapes. For Yan, painting is not a simple representation of the external world, but a path toward inner truth, revealing the spiritual echoes often obscured by reality.
