Ruocheng Zhou
Ruocheng Zhou’s practice grows from close observation of contemporary life. Through painting, Zhou explores the subtle emotions, uncertainties, and psychological distances that emerge in everyday encounters. Beneath seemingly stable compositions, delicate and fluid brushwork creates a quiet sense of instability, allowing the works to move between warmth and coolness, intimacy and distance.
Rather than presenting fixed narratives, Zhou’s paintings gather fragments of lived experience, where personal emotion and social reality quietly intersect. With a restrained visual language and sensitive handling of texture, color, and form, Zhou creates images that invite reflection and transform uncertainty into a shared emotional experience.
