Yanni Xiong
Yanni Xiong’s practice integrates multidisciplinary and cross-media approaches, incorporating elements from literature, film, and other fields into his work. She primarily creates in response to literary texts and cinematic language, exploring narrative structures through sculptural forms.
Through her practice, she continuously develops new techniques and modes of expression. She views art not as a linear progression, but as a condition that transcends time and space—capable of transforming across different historical moments into personal forms.
For Xiong, art is both a way of living and an expression of personal attitude. Her work seeks to extend beyond the boundaries of art itself, engaging with broader questions of existence and meaning. She embraces diverse artistic forms as part of an expanded understanding of life, which lies at the core of her practice.
Deeply influenced by artists such as Mi Fu and Gong Xian, Xiong draws inspiration from their craftsmanship and artistic dedication, aspiring to bring the same level of precision and commitment into her own work.
